Booking Terms & Conditions for Tenterfield

We suggest you read the following terms and conditions carefully prior to making a booking. We will be happy to discuss any questions you have regarding the booking of Teneterfield, should these arise.

1. Contract
The contract entered into is between the “owner” of Tenterfiled (Mrs J Barrow), who may be referred to as “us” or “we”, and the holidaymaker hereinafter referred to as "the hirer", “ visitor”, “guest” or “you”. The contract is effective once the required payment has been received from the hirer and the owner’s confirmation has been sent.

2. Your Booking
Please telephone or email to confirm that your chosen property is available on the dates you require. Bookings are held provisionally for three days to allow for receipt of cheque.

Please note your holiday is not confirmed until you have received confirmation and we reserve the right to refuse any booking before we have issued the written confirmation. Confirmation may be by post, telephone or E-mail.

3. Payment
Payment is to be made by sterling cheque or via Paypal. Cheques should be made payable to “Mrs J Barrow”.

For reservations made more than six weeks before the holiday start date a deposit of approximately one third of the rental cost is required.

Where a booking is made less than six weeks before arrival, full payment is due at the time of booking.

4. Balance Outstanding
The full balance of the total holiday cost is payable not later than six weeks before the arrival date. Failure to pay may result in loss of booking and loss of deposit.

5. Credit Card Payments
We do not currently take credit card payments.

6. Security Fee
A refundable deposit of £100 to cover property damage or breakages is required, payable on booking.

The deposit will be cashed on receipt and will be fully refunded within 15 days of the end of the stay providing there is no damage (either wilful or accidental), no extra cleaning is required and everything is as the guest found it.

7. Cancellation
We recommend that you take out holiday insurance to cover cancellation.

Should you wish to cancel your holiday, please confirm the request in writing as soon as possible. If we are able to relet Tenterfield we will refund to you the amount paid by the new hirer up to the full price of your booking less £30. Please note that the amount refunded may not be the same as the amount paid by you.

If no replacement booking of Tenterfield is possible following cancellation, all monies paid by the hirer will be forfeited.

8. Short Breaks
Short breaks are available throughout the year with the exception of the months of July and August, and the week of Christmas and New Year, see bookings page for details.

9. Booking alterations by the hirer
Alterations to a booking may be possible. Please contact us as immediately to discuss any changes you require. Please note that any alterations to the original booking details by the hirer which have not been communicated to the owners may result in forfeit of the booking and all monies paid.

10. Booking alterations by the agency
If, for reasons beyond the our control, the owner has to cancel or alter arrangements made for the hirer, we will inform you as quickly as possible. Should this result in the hirer not being able to take up the booking, the owner will return to the hirer any monies paid and all liability will cease.

11. Damage or Losses
The hirer is responsible for leaving the accommodation in good order and in a clean condition. The hirer further undertakes to pay for any damage or losses incurred during occupation or any extra cleaning costs incurred. Please report any breakages or damage to the owner which occur during your stay as soon as possible, not just as you leave. The owner reserves the right to repossess the property if excessive damage has been caused by the hirer or a member of the party.

12. Numbers in Party/Suitability/Eligibility
The number of persons occupying a property must not exceed the maximum number agreed with the owner, should this occur at any time prior to taking occupancy or during the stay, the owner may refuse to allow you to take possession of the property or make you leave before the end of the holiday. In this case the holiday is considered to be cancelled by you and you will not be entitled to any refund or compensation.

The owner reserves the right to refuse any booking which, in his opinion, is unsuitable for the property concerned.

The person making the booking must be over the age of 21.

13. Occupancy
Occupancy begins at 16:00 on the first day of the stay and terminates at 10:00 on the final day of the stay. We trust you will abide by these times to ensure that the house may be cleaned and prepared for the following guests. The owners reserve the right to enforce these times and to enter the building at any time outwith the booked period.

The accommodation is let within the meaning of paragraph nine of the First Schedule to the Housing Act 1988 and there is no right of occupancy beyond the stated and agreed period.

14. Pets
Pets are not permitted anywhere on the property at Tenterfield, including within the grounds. Should you bring a pet with you, you will be asked to leave and no compensation/refund will be offered.

 We do not guarantee that pets have not been present at the property.

15. Travel Cots/High Chairs
A high chair is provided, as is a travel cot. Please bring your own bedding for the cot.

16. Bed Linen/Towels
Bed linen is provided and the beds will be made up for you on arrival. We do not provide towels

17. Property/Amenity Description
We have made every effort to ensure that the property description is accurate, however, we cannot be held responsible for discrepancies resulting from events, which are beyond our control. We do not accept responsibility for inaccessibility to any attractions or area amenities mentioned in the website.

18. Maintenance
We do not wish to disturb you during your stay, however, from time to time maintenance or repair work may be necessary which cannot be carried out on a change-over day. Should this occur, we will inform you of the situation and endeavour to effect this work as swiftly and unobtrusively as possible.

19. Photography
The property exteriors, furniture, furnishings and room layouts may differ slightly from the original photographs. We do not anticipate the need to make any major changes to the property, however, should this occur after a booking is made you will be notified to you as soon as possible.

20. Liability
Tenterfield is a sound, well maintained property. Whilst we have made every effort to ensure that the website descriptions are accurate we cannot accept responsibility for any necessary alterations made to the property or its amenities which are beyond our control. Nor can we accept responsibility for any injury, sickness, loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience, directly or indirectly caused by or arising out of the use or condition of the property and its appearances, services, utilities or otherwise, or exceptional weather conditions.  Further, no responsibility is accepted for the personal belongings or vehicle (including contents) of the hirer or any member of the party during the stay.

21. Complaints
If the hirer considers that he/she has cause for complaint, the matter must be taken up immediately with the owner. If the owner considers the complaint to be valid then steps will be taken to rectify the situation. If no appropriate solution is forthcoming, a refund of monies paid may be offered. No liability shall arise beyond a refund. Under no circumstances will the owner accept claims for compensation lodged by the hirer upon departure or anytime thereafter.

22. Data Protection
Your details will be used for the sole purpose of making a booking at Tenterfield. We will not pass on your details to any third parties.

23. Force Majeure
Compensation payments will not apply where we cannot fulfil our obligations due to circumstances beyond our control. This includes any event we cannot foresee with all due care, eg riots, war or threat of war, terrorist activity, civil strife, natural or nuclear disaster, industrial dispute, adverse weather conditions, fire, epidemic or health risk and similar factors beyond our control.
